Difficult "Kandahar" mastered without crashing...
Before traveling to Garmisch-Partenkirchen last week to compete in my debut on the Kandahar, I managed to secure a solid fifth place in the Super-G at the European Cup in Bjelasnica/BIH. After a week of heavy snowfall prior to Garmisch, the Kandahar was able to be raced from its original start line for the first time in a long time. Despite the spring-like temperatures, the organizers managed to keep the course in good condition. I have to say that this race course definitely

A successful “Valais week” ends with a personal best result...
I look back on the past week with satisfaction because, in addition to good results in the European Cup races in Verbier, I achieved my personal best result in the World Cup so far in the downhill race in Crans Montana... Immediately after the last EC downhill race in Verbier, I traveled on to Crans Montana on Friday morning because we had a suitable time slot to compete in the first World Cup training session, which was ultimately canceled at 2:00 p.m. Nevertheless, I was ha

We still had plenty of work to do on the “Streif 2026 Edition” too...
An intense week in Kitzbühel came to an end on Saturday with the downhill race on the Streif. The result is secondary, because for me it was important to work on the deficiencies from Wengen, which is not something that can be done in a few simple steps. That's why the focus in the two training sessions was precisely on that. So I was satisfied with my run from the race to the upper Hausberg. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to maintain this pace 100% on the approach to the Hausb

Valuable experience gained at the Lauberhorn...
Last week, I was able to race the challenging Lauberhorn downhill course in its entirety for the first time...at least during the two training sessions. The race itself was shortened, starting from the Hundschopf. Even though, objectively speaking, the result was not satisfactory, I can look back on an extremely instructive week where I had to adapt my setup to the daily changing slope conditions. In addition, it was not so easy to muster 100% confidence to push hard through

The Saslong 2025 conquered with the first World Cup points of the season...
There were no gifts to be had at the South Tyrolean classic in Val Gardena this year either. In mixed conditions, there was only one training run before the rescheduled Beaver Creek downhill got underway on December 18, 2025. I had a good race on the shortened course, but the hundredths of a second weren't on my side at the end, as the gaps in the middle of the pack were extremely small – 0.27 seconds between P11 and P28. After a day's break, the second race over the entire S

Back on European snow with two 10th places in the European Cup in Santa Caterina, Italy...
After a quick trip home, I continued last week with three speed events in Santa Caterina. On the relatively short course, the time differences were extremely close, so even the smallest mistake immediately led to major “losses” in the rankings – especially in the super-G... In the two downhill races, I managed two solid runs, which were enough for tenth place in each case. These races gave me a good feeling for the European snow and I am now looking forward to the two World C

Start of the season in Beaver Creek 2025/2026... Well...
On St. Nicholas Day, I returned from Colorado after the Downhill World Cup opener in Beaver Creek. I look back on a difficult but enlightening week, during which the external conditions on the Birds of Prey course were anything but easy on all three days. Keywords: wind, snow, and diffuse lighting conditions. The race result was rather modest, with me finishing in 45th place, because I made too many mistakes. The bright spot was at least the 17th fastest time in the last sect

Visit to LAEMMLE Chemicals and the ROXOR brand at the Transport.ch trade fair in Bern
From November 5 to 8, 2025, the Swiss trade fair for commercial vehicles and automotive workshop supplies, Transport.ch , took place in Bern. On November 7, I took the opportunity to visit my main sponsor at their booth at Bern Expo. It was interesting to see what LAEMMLE Chemicals AG had to exhibit to trade fair visitors and their customers. Exciting conversations, numerous selfies, and various autograph requests made the afternoon fly by. Many thanks to LAEMMLE Chemicals an

What a great Friday night at the Hallenstadion...
The 2025 edition of the SUPER10KAMPF by the Swiss’ Sport Aid is now history, and I can look back on a fantastic Friday evening at the Hallenstadion in Zurich. Almost 50 members of my fan club traveled from the Bernese Oberland and created a lively atmosphere with their loud cheering... Under coach Werni Günthör, water jumper Michelle Heimberg, track and field athlete Salomé Kora, Swiss wrestling champion Armon Orlik, and I formed Team «Lightblue». With the tactic “one for all
